Recipe: Apple infused water with cinnamon sticks

Infused water in recent times have grown to be a favourite for instant body detox. This fool proof recipe of an infused water with apple slices and cinnamon sticks is easy to make and will do wonders for your body!

With just two steps, this recipe of Apple Infused water will find its way to your list of ultimate easy to make health drinks. Have it chilled or at room temperature as it suits you and experience your body soak in the goodness of apples and cinnamon in each gulp!

Apple & Cinnamon Infused Water

  • 1 Red Apples (thinly sliced )
  • 1 inch Cinnamon Stick (stick)
  • 1 ltr Water


  • 2-3 Red Apples (slices )
  • 1 inch Cinnamon Stick



  • Fruits are generally waxed or sprayed with chemicals    
  • We would use the whole fruit for the infusion  
  • Hence, always invest in high quality, organic and ripe fruits


  • Check for any bruise or mold on the apple, cut them off. Remove the stalk as well.
  • Clean the red apple under tap water, turning as necessary to clean all the side 
  • Then in a container filled with enough water, mix 1 tbsp of lemon juice & 1 tbsp of baking soda
  • Dip each apples and brush the skin using a vegetable brush gently to remove any wax
  • Wash off the apples again under running tap water and dry it with a damp cloth


  • Cut the apples into wedges and thinly slice them
  • Thin apple slices  provide the most surface area for juices and flavor to seep out into the water


  • In a large glass pitcher, place the thinly cut apple slices and drop in 1-inch cinnamon stick  
  • Pour one-liter water in the glass jug
  • Refrigerate the infused water for min 30 minutes (atleast), before consuming  
  • If you don’t like having your water chilled, then leave the jug at room temperature  
  • If using infused water bottle, the water will infuse quickly. Add some ice cubes and enjoy. Keep refilling them through the day

  • Whenever you feel the urge of quenching the thirst with soda, have this infused water instead, you will feel a lot better and light!

  • Carry the infused water to your yoga sessions and drink them once you sweat it out

Add in sparkling water to spruce up your drink   

Use few drops of honey to add a little bit of sweetness, but remember to keep it healthy  

1/2 Teaspoon of cinnamon concentration is optional if you like the strong flavour

  • To coax more flavour of cinnamon, heat 1 stick of cinnamon to 1 cup of water 

  • Cool the liquid and use the concentration mix in infused water

  • You will be surprised to see a slight change in the colour as well 

  • You can refill water throughout day and let sit 30 minutes minimum

  • At the end of the day you can either eat the fruit or toss out 

  • If you want to keep it longer, remove the fresh fruit and cinnamon stick after several hours and add a lid to the pitcher.  

  • Keep a bottle of chilled water ready for infusion or keep some ice 

  • Keep some cinnamon concentration ready to speed up your infusion  

  • Cut all your garnishes ahead-washed and place it in a bowl, covered & refrigerated

  • Sprinkle in a few drops of lemon juice over apple and refrigerate to avoid de coloration 

  • Best served chilled (recommended) or with ice cubes

  • If using outdoors, place the glass pitcher in an ice bath

  • Use glass pitchers with lids that will help you strain out the infusions 

  • Use everyday water glasses or balloon shaped water glasses to serve.

  • Refrigerate the infused water in glass bottles or jars itself for easy consumption 

  • Always cover the infused water with a lid

  • If open pitcher, use a cling film. This will help avoid any residual smells into the infused water from the refrigerator 

  • Add garnishes just before service
