When I hear the word ‘happy’, the three words that pop in my head are shopping, pizzas, and movies!! My three favourite simple joys are drinking coffee, visiting a beach and listening to the sound of the waves, and the smell of mud when it rains! I love watching the rain. Visiting any hill station in the rainy season is just the best. It makes me super happy.

If my life was a book, it would be called, ‘True Happiness.’

Something really quirky about me yet super strange is that my choices are always very different from others. What I mean is, what others like, I usually don’t like, and what I really like, others normally don’t.

The most spontaneous thing that I have ever done is try to apply make up on myself like a professional, only to end up looking really bad!

I love it when my entire family gets together during festivals! We really enjoy ourselves a lot – we laugh all night and do fun things, eat great food, and take loads of pictures till we get the perfect ones! That’s actually a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine – taking countless selfies until I get a good picture, haha! 😉

I’m very grateful for my family, and my friends, especially Vijay, Divya, Sindhu and Manju! Thanks for always being there for me, and one phone call away!

One incredible act of kindness I was shown that I’ll never forget and am always super grateful for, was that one day I wasn’t well, and my colleagues shared my work responsibilities without letting my team lead know. The funny thing is, I even achieved my target that day, because of them! I’ll never forget it.

The best advice I’ve ever received is, ‘To be yourself, don’t lose yourself.’

If I had only 10 years to live, I’d cook and eat all the dishes I wanted to eat, and see all the picturesque places around the world while I could!

Dear 15 year old self…it’s okay to not take things too seriously… chill!

Dear 60 year old self…put love before money, and memories before things, because the joy of life is real success like happiness, love, family time, and health.

My favourite memories are from my childhood. I loved going to my grandma’s home during the summer vacations for two whole months year after year. I loved chatting with my grandparents, and hearing all the stories they had to tell about their past, and learning how different their lifestyle was when they were younger.

The one food memory that makes me all fuzzy inside is the one time I really wanted to eat chaat with my friends, but ended up eating biriyani instead – that’s how mad my obsession with biriyani is!

"I’m singing in the rain, just singing in the rain; What a wonderful feeling, I’m happy again."

Arthur Freed, American Lyricist

Ever since Work-From-Home began, it’s been really tough to manage the work at home, as well as the work from office. And sometimes, I feel really low when things don’t fall into place as planned, or when plans get cancelled, like going out. But I find comfort in the simple things, to keep my mind busy from all the stress. I’ve started growing plants, and it’s a new-found love of mine. I’ve even started practicing my skills in Fashion Design.

My biggest takeaway from this pandemic is that I learnt the value of freedom, and how it can slip away from our fingers before we can even blink.

The COVID situation is serious, and not being able to step out on our own free will, whenever and wherever – it’s so different. I’ve realized that I should take life as it comes, and try to be happy with whatever I have.

The only advice I have to give during this pandemic is that you need to believe that our future will be okay. It’s all the motivation one needs during times like these. Make the most of your time: take up new courses, educate yourself, learn new things every day, spend happy moments with your families, and accept life as it comes. Stay safe, guys!!
